Privacy
Meeting someone nearby should leave you in control. Here’s what other people can see, what stays private and how you manage your data.
Your privacy at each step
Your location stays hidden from other users
Naidoo uses proximity to find a possible match. Other users never receive your position, distance or direction.
Two yeses before names and photos
Your name and photo are shared with the other person only after you both accept. Before then, an offer shows a reference and a fit label, without revealing who they are.
No movement history
We don’t store a trail of your movements. Coarse session and presence data is kept for no more than seven days.
Radar starts with your choice
You turn Radar on and can stop it at any time. The app asks you to reconfirm periodically; without confirmation, the session ends. Opening the app never starts Radar on its own.
Private preferences stay private
Your private preferences are encrypted and never shared with other users, including after you both accept. You can review them yourself and include them in your data export.
Host reports contain summary statistics
Event and venue hosts receive no named match pairs or private preferences. Authorised staff may access relevant information when investigating a report.
Clear choices about consent
Each consent is explained separately, when it’s needed. Optional choices, such as marketing, are separate from access to the service. You can review and withdraw consents in Settings. Withdrawing location consent ends active Radar sessions.
How long we keep data
Coarse presence data is kept for up to seven days. AI conversation history is kept for up to 90 days, or until you delete the profile or your account. Chat history stays until account deletion or an erasure request. Encrypted database backups expire after 14 days, with up to one further day for storage cleanup.
Your data, within reach
In Settings, you can request a machine-readable copy of your own data or delete your account. Deletion removes your profiles, private preferences and messages you sent; other people keep their own messages. The confirmation explains what will be removed. Copies in encrypted backups expire after 14 days, with up to one further day for storage cleanup.
